The U.S. Department of Education recently informed PSS that it is withholding a portion of its annual Consolidated Grant award - $4.5 million, nearly 24% of annual funds awarded every summer. To clarify, those funds have not been cut, but they are being withheld pending review by the Department of Education. The Department is doing the same with education grants to all states and territories. I’m working to get clear answers to key programs that are affected such as the English Language support, effective instruction, afterschool, and student support and academic enrichment programs.
