Washington, DC - Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds announced that the conference committee draft of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act includes two major provisions for the CNMI. Inclusion in the conference agreement places both measures in the final text that will move to the House and Senate for approval.
“This year’s NDAA includes two long-needed changes that strengthen our role in the Pacific and create real opportunities for new economic activity in the CNMI,” said Congresswoman King-Hinds.
We are thrilled to recognize CNMI resident Isaiah Aleksenko, a student at Keiser University in Florida, who was recently featured in this article for being named Sun Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week. Isaiah’s outstanding performance at the Indian River State College/Ave Maria University Tri-meet earned him three gold medals, including top times in the 200 meter Butterfly and 200 meter Individual Medley. He now has the fastest times in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in three events, among all small-college swimmers in the country! Ear
I had the privilege of meeting with Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Vanuatu during their visit to Washington, DC this week coordinated by the Congressional Office for International Leadership’s (COIL) Open World program. COIL’s work to promote congressional and citizen diplomacy is invaluable. Our discussion highlighted the many shared values and challenges that tie our Pacific communities together. We spoke about Vanuatu’s key industries, including tourism and agriculture, as well as the workforce shortages and economic pressures that are familiar to us
