This week, I was proud to support various bipartisan bills in a Transportation and Infrastructure Committee markup that advances priorities with real consequences for island communities like ours. The committee moved legislation to keep our aviation system running safely, even during a government shutdown, by ensuring air traffic controllers and FAA professionals are paid, which is critical for places like the CNMI that rely on air service for travel, commerce, and medical care. We also advanced bills to strengthen airport operations, modernize aviation safety and supply chains, improve water quality programs, and enhance emergency communications at federal buildings throughout the nation.
