As we move further into October, we continue to honor all advocates, victims, and survivors of domestic violence. This Purple Thursday, our team enjoyed our favorite purple drinks and used our purple materials to show support for those affected. We encourage everyone to stay tuned to NMCADSV for more updates throughout Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to keep advocating for those in need.

Tinian is receiving additional support for its recovery from Super Typhoon Sinlaku, with the Tinian Mayor’s Office awarded $114,794.66 in FEMA funding to repair or replace the island’s monument welcome sign, street lighting, and related components damaged by the storm. The grant covers 90% of the total eligible project cost of $127,549.62. We commend the Tinian Mayor’s Office for its continued work to restore the island’s public infrastructure and maintain the welcoming character of the community.

The CNMI Department of Finance has been awarded $263,820.07 in FEMA funding to repair or replace vehicles, building exterior components, fencing, and other related items damaged by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. The award covers 90% of the total eligible project cost of $293,133.41. We thank the team at Finance for their continued work to maintain the facilities and resources needed to serve our people.

The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation (CUC) has been awarded an additional $214,977.90 in FEMA assistance to repair or replace building exteriors, fencing, and related components damaged by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. The grant covers 90% of the total eligible project cost of $238,864.33. We commend CUC for its ongoing efforts to restore its facilities and strengthen the infrastructure that supports essential utility services throughout the Commonwealth.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DFEMS) has been awarded $230,021.92 in FEMA funding to carry out emergency protective measures following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. This assistance covers 100% of the eligible project cost and is intended to address immediate threats to public health, safety, and property across the Commonwealth. We are grateful to our DFEMS personnel for their dedication to protecting lives and responding to emergencies, especially during challenging times.

Protecting the health and safety of our people remains a priority as our Commonwealth recovers from Super Typhoon Sinlaku. The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) has been awarded $793,258.71 in FEMA funding, covering 100% of the eligible project cost, to carry out emergency protective measures addressing immediate threats to public health, safety, and property. We recognize CHCC’s important work to safeguard our community’s well-being and respond to urgent needs during disaster recovery. Their efforts help ensure our people remain protected when it matters most.

The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation is looking to receive $909,270.03 in FEMA funding to repair or replace building interiors, mechanical systems, pumps, regulators, and related components damaged by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. This grant covers 90% of the total eligible project cost of $1,010,300.03. We applaud CUC for its continued work to restore and maintain the essential utility systems our families and businesses depend on every day.

We’re excited to see the Commonwealth Ports Authority receive $676,464.02 in FEMA funding to support emergency measures following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. This grant covers 100% of the eligible project cost. These funds will help address immediate threats to public health, safety, and property as our Commonwealth continues its recovery. Hats off to CPA for its work to protect our communities and maintain critical port operations during this recovery effort.
