119th Congress

This week, the House Transportation & Infrastructure committee held its first hearing of the 119th Congress, focusing on issues related to the Highway Trust Fund and the extension of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The IIJA has provided significant resources to advance the development and modernization of CNMI infrastructure, ensuring improvements to roads, utilities, and critical facilities. Discussions also centered on streamlining infrastructure projects to ensure they are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

James Moylan of Guam and Kimberlyn King-Hinds of Northern Mariana Islands (Feb. 19): “The House Budget Resolution proposed $800 billion in cuts to programs under the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, with Medicaid expected to bear the brunt of these reductions.
Washington - Congresswoman King-Hinds joined Members of the Congressional Hispanic Conference in writing a letter to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson voicing concerns regarding possible funding decisions from the House Budget Resolution’s committee instructions. The letter agreed with the current GOP agenda which aims to cut wasteful spending but asked the Speaker not to underfund critical programs.

I want to congratulate former U.S.

Following the IGIA, I had the opportunity to participate in a U.S.

Thank you to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum for attending the IGIA Senior Plenary Session this week.

It is always a joyous occasion to welcome new citizens to our country.
