Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds announced that several important provisions for the Marianas were included in the bipartisan funding package passed by Congress last week as part of the agreement to end the federal government shutdown. The package consisted of a three-bill minibus that provides full-year funding for the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Veterans Affairs and military construction, and the operations of Congress. All other federal agencies were funded through a continuing resolution until January 30.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds (R-Northern Mariana Islands) joined Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett (D-U.S. Virgin Islands), Congresswoman Amata Radewagen (R-American Samoa), and Congressman James Moylan (R-Guam) in introducing H.R. 5960, a bipartisan bill to restore duty-free treatment for low-value shipments from the U.S. territories following the recent suspension of de minimis privileges under Executive Order 14324.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds today announced that the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) has awarded a total of $11.3 million in Fiscal Years 2024 and 2025 discretionary grant funding to support infrastructure, energy, education, and natural resource initiatives in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Washington - Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds is asking residents and businesses in the Northern Marianas to contact her office if they have been charged new tariffs on packages sent to the United States following the implementation of Executive Order 14324 suspending the de minimis exemption.

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds is encouraging residents of the Marianas to stay informed as the federal government faces the possibility of a funding lapse beginning at 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 (EST), or 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1 (CNMI time). 

“If a shutdown does occur, it may cause delays in services that families and businesses depend on,” said Congresswoman King-Hinds. “Your congressional office will stay open and accessible to help constituents with questions or issues as they arise.”

Washington - Just nine months into her first term in Congress, Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds celebrated the House passage of her first bill, H.R. 3400, the Territorial Response and Access to Veterans’ Essential Lifecare (TRAVEL) Act of 2025, constituting a major step toward improving healthcare access for veterans in the U.S. territories.
