Washington – Today, Congresswoman King-Hinds applauded the bi-partisan confirmation of former Congressman Doug Collins to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“Secretary Collins is very distinguished and well respected,” said Congresswoman King-Hinds. “He understands that the federal government must do more for our veterans. In the CNMI, we have a sizeable veteran population that is not receiving adequate care. They deserve better.”
Washington – Today, Congresswoman King-Hinds congratulated the confirmation of two Trump cabinet appointees: Doug Burgum, for Secretary of the Interior, and Sean Duffy, for Secretary of Transportation.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work with Secretaries Burgum and Duffy,” said Congresswoman King-Hinds. “By collaborating with them, I believe we can make much-needed improvements to the CNMI.”
Washington – Today, Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds announced which federal grant assistance programs for the CNMI will be affected by the temporary freeze on federal financial assistance programs issued by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
(Office of Congresswoman King-Hinds) – Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds issued a statement today addressing concerns over the Trump Administration’s announcement of a temporary pause on federal financial assistance programs, as outlined in a memorandum from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The memorandum directs federal agencies to halt obligations and disbursements of federal grants, loans, and financial assistance while the Administration reviews programs to align them with its priorities.
Washington – Today, Congresswoman King-Hinds announced her appointment to two new House committees: the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and the House Committee on Small Business. She will serve on the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access, as well as the Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure.
