Washington - Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds has introduced her first bill, H.R.1797, to amend the Wagner-Peyser Act of 1933 and include the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in federal employment service programs. The legislation ensures that workers in the CNMI receive the same employment assistance, job training, and labor exchange services currently available in the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

Washington - Congresswoman King-Hinds joined Members of the Congressional Hispanic Conference in writing a letter to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson voicing concerns regarding possible funding decisions from the House Budget Resolution’s committee instructions. The letter agreed with the current GOP agenda which aims to cut wasteful spending but asked the Speaker not to underfund critical programs.

Washington – Today, Congresswoman King-Hinds applauded the bi-partisan confirmation of former Congressman Doug Collins to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.  

“Secretary Collins is very distinguished and well respected,” said Congresswoman King-Hinds. “He understands that the federal government must do more for our veterans. In the CNMI, we have a sizeable veteran population that is not receiving adequate care. They deserve better.”
