Working with OIA Leadership
Despite the federal government shutdown and with the ongoing financial crisis in the Northern Marianas, it's gratifying to be able to continue working closely with Administration officials to identify immediate relief measures and lay the groundwork for long-term fiscal sustainability. I had productive discussions recently with key leaders from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Insular and International Affairs, including Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary William Hague, Deputy Assistant Secretary Angel Demapan, and staff Anna Kriebel and Justin Rhee. We reviewed potential actions and received critical updates on ongoing efforts. I am grateful to President Trump and the Department of the Interior for their leadership, continued support, and recognition of the gravity of our financial challenges. With collaboration, persistence, and a shared commitment to recovery, I am confident that we can emerge from this crisis stronger and more resilient.
