On Thursday, the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health advanced my bill, H.R. 6652, the “U.S. Vets of the FAS Act.” This legislation requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide telehealth and mail-order pharmacy services to veterans residing in the Freely Associated States. It also establishes a clear timeline for finalizing agreements with FAS governments, strengthens beneficiary travel support, and mandates regular reporting to Congress to ensure accountability and measurable progress. The bill reinforces the commitment Congress made in the 2024 renewal of the Compacts of Free Association and ensures the VA fulfills that obligation. Veterans in the Freely Associated States have upheld their end of the bargain through honorable service. Congress acted with clear intent to improve VA services for FAS veterans in renewing the COFA. Now it is time for the VA to do its part. View my remarks on the bill here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6rV17RqoZI.
