Working Alongside VA
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Senior Advisor, Joel Katz met with me Thursday to provide updates on veterans issues in the Marianas and across the country. We discussed the importance of bringing in essential medical care to the CNMI and the possibility of partnering with existing medical providers to increase the depth of care VA provides our veterans. Mr. Katz also informed me that the long-vacant VHA Administrative Specialist position will finally be filled very soon so that our veterans will have an on-island contact to directly address healthcare service issues. It’s critical for the CNMI and VA to work together and address the specific needs of our veterans. I will not stop until our veterans are seen and given the care they are owed.
