I'm happy to announce that Byul An of Saipan Southern High School is the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. A panel of Judges chose Ms. An’s work, titled “Sabalu Market,” among 16 entries submitted by high school students across the Marianas. This is my first time hosting the Congressional Art Competition and I just want to thank all the students who took the time to submit their artwork. You are all so talented and I am glad I did not have the tough job of judging this competition. I would also like to thank CNMI Museum Director Mr. Leonard Leon who coordinated bringing in our judges, the team from Creative West, who were on island to attend the Flame Tree Arts Festival. Ms. Anika Teme, Mr. Christian Gaines, and Mr. David Holland; thank you for taking the time. And congratulations to Byul An, art teacher Mr. Joseph Weaver, and Saipan Southern High School! Go Manta Rays!
