We were honored to welcome a delegation of government officials from the Republic of the Marshall Islands to our Washington, DC office a few weeks ago, including a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol.  The Northern Marianas and the Marshall Islands share a deep and enduring friendship shaped by our shared history under the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands and strengthened by generations of Pacific leadership and cultural exchange.  We were especially grateful to receive a Marshallese navigational stick chart, a powerful symbol of indigenous knowledge, fortitude, and seafaring tradition.  We thank Taann Kabua-Demapan, Maxine Kaneko, Consul General Anjanette Anjel of Arkansas, Consul General Eldon Alik of Oregon, Dixie Lomae-Paul, Deborah Parker-Manase, Kay Lomae Wass, Consul General Glancy Enos of Hawaii, and Vice Consul General Calvin Miyazoe of Hawaii for their visit.
