Touching Base with the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence
I appreciated the opportunity to sit down with Maisie Tenorio of the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence this week. We talked about the Coalition’s ongoing work and the broader community effort to address domestic and sexual violence in the CNMI. Our discussion included preparations related to the Violence Against Women Act and funding from the Office of Family Violence Prevention and Services that helps sustain these critical programs. We also spoke about the many ways our community can continue to support survivors, both through major initiatives and the everyday actions that help people feel seen and supported. Even when I am not always home, I want to make sure I, both professionally and personally, am doing what I can to assist these efforts and strengthen the resources available to those who need them most.
