Time with NMHC on Housing and Recovery
I spent time this week with the team at the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation to talk through the federally supported programs NMHC provides to the Commonwealth. These include mortgage assistance, rental support, and the administration of the CNMI’s Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funds following Super Typhoon Yutu. We also discussed progress toward expanding additional USDA home loan programs and what more can be done to strengthen support for individuals and families in the CNMI who are without stable housing. I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly about the work underway and the challenges that remain.
