T&I Markup Advances Transportation and Connectivity
This week, I joined my colleagues on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to advance bipartisan legislation that impacts rural communities like the Northern Marianas and other territories. The bills include efforts to modernize FAA processes for pilots, strengthen the air traffic control workforce by helping experienced military controllers transition into civilian roles, and study how satellite broadband can better serve remote areas where traditional infrastructure is limited. The Committee also advanced a bill to examine drone incursions during wildfire response, an important step in protecting airspace safety. I will continue working to ensure these policies support reliable air service, improved connectivity, and resilient infrastructure for the people of the CNMI.
