TAP FOR OUR VETS

The House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs - Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity held a hearing this week on the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) administered by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). TAP provides information, resources, and tools to service members and their loved ones to help prepare for the move from military to civilian life. It is very concerning to know that the program has a 52% success rate. When communities like the Northern Marianas are already struggling to gain access to care for our veterans, it is imperative for critical agencies such as the VA to be performing at much more acceptable success rates. Our veterans deserve better, and I intend to keep pushing this issue until access to benefits and services are readily available in the Marianas.
