Talking Transit with COTA
Ferries and improved public transportation services were top of the agenda this week as I met with Alfreda Maratita, Special Assistant for Public Transportation, and her amazing team at the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA). I truly believe the work COTA is doing is transforming our islands—connecting communities and delivering better, more accessible public services. In addition to maintaining Saipan’s fixed-route transit system, COTA is now conducting a feasibility study for inter-island ferry service throughout the Marianas—an exciting development that could redefine how we move across our region. As a member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, I’m proud to support this work and will continue advocating in Congress to help these important projects grow.
