Talking Military Contracting
We welcomed Ray Camacho and his wife, Dana, to the District Office last week, and more importantly, welcomed them back home to the CNMI! Ray returns to Saipan following a long career working as a military contractor abroad. I had a great opportunity to hear about his experiences, learn more about the important work contractors do in supporting our nation’s military, and talk about how we can help CNMI-based contractors take on a larger role in the industry. We discussed programs like the Department of War’s Mentor-Protégé Program and ways our local businesses can take greater advantage of opportunities to work with the military. As federal defense investments continue to grow in our region, I want to see more of our local businesses develop the experience, relationships, and capacity to compete for that work.
