Taking a Tour of the 500 Sails Facility
500 Sails is an incredible organization because it represents both our history and the opportunities for our future at the same time. I had the pleasure of visiting their facility this week, and I’m truly grateful for the warm welcome and insightful tour. Special thanks to Peter Jay Perez, Emma Perez, and Luella Marciano for the engaging conversations and in-depth breakdown of your plans for the organization. I was fascinated to learn about the process of building your canoes and how you’re reviving ancient traditions. The craftsmanship involved and the connection to history is inspiring, but equally inspiring are the plans to pass this knowledge on to the next generation.
