Tackling the Big Issues with Student Journalists
I love student-led journalism. Having students both report on the news and offer their own perspectives brings together classroom learning and real-world issues in a way that often leads to new and interesting conversations about the topics of the day. It was an absolute joy to sit down with journalism students from the University of Guam and the student journalists behind Triton's Call, UOG's student news outlet, to talk about territorial representation, deep-sea mineral mining, and some of the major issues affecting our region. These were thoughtful questions about issues that will shape the future of our islands, and I really enjoyed the opportunity to hear their perspectives and share some of my own. Thank you to Thomas Manglona for connecting us and arranging this great interview. Take a look at our conversation here!
