Strengthening the Workforce of Veterans in America

At Tuesday’s Economic Opportunity Oversight Subcommittee hearing, I spoke with officials from the Department of Veterans Affairs and industry experts about the importance of ensuring veterans have access to education and training. Continuing education is critical as veterans transition into civilian careers, but the opportunities available to them must reflect their individual goals and interests. A four-year degree isn’t the right path for everyone. That’s why the VA should work to expand access to high-quality trade programs and do more to make veterans aware of the wide range of vocational career paths available to them.
