Staying Connected with CNMI Students Abroad

Many of our students leave the CNMI to pursue higher education with the sincere desire to return home and contribute to our islands. To maintain that passion and focus, it’s important to stay connected to the place you love. This week, I had the pleasure of meeting virtually with Mr. Easton Dela Cruz, a former CNMI Youth Congress Senator and Marianas High School graduate, who is currently pursuing his degree at the Chaminade University of Honolulu. We spoke about the challenges facing the CNMI, my work in Congress, and the joys and realities of public service. It is always inspiring to hear from students who care deeply about the future of our islands. Thank you, Easton, for taking the time to connect—I look forward to seeing where your journey takes you!
