Standing Up for Veterans in the Marianas and Beyond
Thursday on the House Floor, I spoke in support of H.R. 9237, the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act, a package of more than 60 bipartisan bills that strengthens care and support for veterans across the nation, including the Northern Marianas. From improving survivor benefits to addressing traumatic brain injuries, this legislation ensures veterans receive the resources and care they have earned. The veterans package includes two of my bills H.R. 3400 and H.R. 6652. H.R. 3400, the Territorial Response and Access to Veterans' Essential Lifecare Act or the TRAVEL Act, would authorize the VA to send medical professionals to U.S. territories on a rotational basis to provide specialized care for up to one year. H.R. 6652, the U.S. Vets of the FAS Act, would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide telehealth services, medication access, and beneficiary travel assistance to veterans in the Freely Associated States.
