Speaking Honestly About the Road to Recovery

No one’s ever accused me of staying quiet when there’s something that needs to be said. This week, I had the opportunity to share my thoughts at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd Annual Economic Summit, where community leaders gathered to share ideas and data on our economic outlook. But before we talk about where we’re going, we have to be honest about where we are. Right now, many individuals and families in our community are struggling—facing the real consequences of an economic downturn. The sooner we all get on the same page, acknowledge the challenges, and commit to working together, the sooner we can chart a real path to recovery. Pretending the problem doesn’t exist helps no one. I hope the conversations sparked at this summit serve as a catalyst—not just for ideas, but for action.
