Small Business Open House at the District Office
Small businesses of every kind filled our District Office this week for our Small Business Open House. As a member of the House Small Business Committee, I know I cannot speak to the needs of our entrepreneurs in Washington without first hearing directly from them at home. The Open House was a success. I met new faces, reconnected with old friends, and welcomed everyone to their congressional office on Saipan. Two things came through clearly in our conversations: our people are passionate about building success here in the Marianas, and they need help overcoming the unique challenges of our economy. That is exactly what I needed to hear, and I heard it loud and clear. Federal programs to support small businesses must recognize that our challenges are different and more complex. This requires new thinking, innovative solutions, and constant advocacy to make sure our voices are heard.
