Saw You in the News

I want to take a moment to recognize the Northern Mariana Islands U23 Men’s National Soccer Team for their inspiring performance at the AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers in China. Against the host nation and in front of 31,000 fans, our young men, all amateurs, showed tremendous discipline and heart, holding China to just one goal in the first half.  The final score may not reflect the effort on the field, but what stood out was their courage, teamwork, and pride in representing the CNMI on the international stage. The skill and passion our athletes show regularly is just one more reason why I am hopeful the CNMI will one day soon field its own team on the international stage as full members of FIFA.
