This summer, we were thrilled to welcome Northern Marianas son Easton Dela Cruz, a proud student of Chaminade University of Honolulu, into our Washington, D.C. team through the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) Congressional Internship Program.  From the moment he walked into our office, Easton carried the CNMI with him.  He reminded us that every young person from our islands brings a powerful story, a proud community, and a big purpose.  Easton even captured his experience in a thoughtful article that was featured in Chaminade Silversword, his university’s student newspaper.  Whether navigating the fast-paced halls of Congress or sharing why opportunity matters for young people back home, Easton stepped up with courage and heart.  We are proud of Easton’s willingness to leave his comfort zone, to learn, to speak up, and to make sure the CNMI is never left out of the conversation.  He reminds us that leadership isn’t about titles.  It’s about remembering who you serve and where you come from.  Thank you, Easton, for being a part of our congressional family.  We know this is only the beginning of the difference you will make for our islands.
