While the CNMI is not holding an official Memorial Day ceremony today due to the ongoing recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Sinlaku, I wanted to make sure we still begin this week with a moment of reflection and prayer for the service members we have lost, both from the Northern Marianas and across our nation. Our islands understand more than most the cost of war, both through our history and through the way a single life touches an entire community as small and connected as ours. Today, my thoughts are with those who served and with the families who continue to carry their memories. The faces, the laughter, the presence, and the love that remain long after they are gone. I hope each of us takes a moment today to reflect on their service and the sacrifices that helped secure the peace we enjoy today.
