Recognizing the Heroes of Super Typhoon Recovery
Last Friday, I rose on the House Floor to recognize the extraordinary response to Super Typhoon Sinlaku and to thank the many individuals and organizations helping our islands recover and rebuild. From our first responders, utility crews, mayors’ offices, FEMA, and the Army Corps of Engineers, to the nonprofits, faith-based groups, medical workers, and volunteers serving our communities every day. The outpouring of support for the CNMI has been incredible. We are especially proud of our people across the Marianas and throughout the CNMI diaspora who stepped up to care for neighbors, raise funds, clear roads, deliver supplies, and support families in need. Our recovery is being driven not only by government, but by the strength, compassion, and resilience of our community.
