Playing for a Cause

On Wednesday night, I had the honor of participating in the 17th Annual Congressional Women’s Softball Game, a spirited matchup between a bipartisan group of women Members of Congress and the women of the DC Press Corps. Since its inception in 2009, this event has raised nearly 5 million for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), a global organization dedicated to supporting young adults diagnosed with breast cancer by providing vital resources, connections, and community. For the first time in 17 years, the game was held at Audi Field, the vibrant home of D.C. United, Washington Spirit, DC Power FC, and the DC Defenders. The competition was fierce, but the Members’ team emerged victorious, edging out the Press team 5-3! The game, and the cause we were playing for, was captured by CBS Evening News. Take a Look!
