Our Students Give Me Hope

I’m not going to lie—the absolute best part of this job is getting to meet and talk with our high school students. This week, I got a double dose of that joy with visits to Mount Carmel High School and Marianas High School, and I walked away energized, inspired, and full of hope. The world is changing fast around them, and they’re coming of age in a time full of new challenges—many I never had to face at their age. But after our conversations, I’m certain they have what it takes to build something meaningful—for themselves and for our community. Their curiosity, their concern for the issues we face, and their sense of humor and maturity left me feeling hopeful and proud. Thank you to the teachers, staff, parents, and support networks who are helping shape the next generation—and thank you to the students for your time and for filling my spirit this week. I hope you got something out of our time together—because I definitely did.
