“This Office Belongs to the People of the Northern Mariana Islands”

What is the role of a Congresswoman? For me, it’s simple—I am here to represent the people of the Northern Mariana Islands. No one else. To make that clear, this week I placed a special reminder on the front door of our Washington, DC office. It reads: “Hafa Adai yan Tirow. This office belongs to the people of the Northern Mariana Islands.” Every visitor will see these words, and I will be reminded of them every single day. Whenever I face an issue in Congress, my first question will always be: is this good for the people I am here to represent? That is, and always will be, my guiding principle.
If you're in DC or planning a trip, stop by and visit your office! We can assist with tours and tickets. Take a look at my website on how we can make your visit to the nation's capital memorable.
