No VA Clinic, No Full-Time Care—Why Are CNMI Veterans Left Behind?
The difference in benefits our veterans receive in the CNMI is stark. On the mainland, bureaucrats argue about the speed of veterans’ care, but in the Northern Marianas, our veterans struggle to receive ANY medical care at all. While national discussions on veteran’s healthcare are important, I just wish our veterans had proper and basic healthcare to begin with. We’re fortunate to have a wonderful doctor and nurse caring for our veterans in Saipan; but having only 2 medical care providers is not enough to see the hundreds of veterans in the Marianas. Let's ensure that ALL veterans, regardless of their zip code, get the healthcare they deserve. Being from a territory doesn't make us any less American.
