Navigating the Transitional Assistance Program with veterans

At Tuesday’s Veterans’ Committee oversight hearing, I raised important questions about how nonprofits support service members as they transition to civilian life. The Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is designed to help prepare our soldiers for post-military careers, but unfortunately, it’s often underutilized and challenging to navigate. I asked how nonprofits are collaborating with the Department of Defense and the VA to ensure our veterans have the tools and opportunities they need to thrive after service.
