More Than $1.3 Million in FEMA Funding for CUC Emergency Generator Support

The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation (CUC) has received $1,308,655.88 in federal funding to support emergency generator operations following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. This includes $1,059,132.68 for emergency protective measures and an additional $249,523.20 to fund the use of temporary generators to help maintain essential services and reduce immediate threats to public health, safety, and property. Both awards are funded at 100% by FEMA under Section 403 of the Stafford Act, with no local cost share required. Reliable power is critical to our communities, especially in the aftermath of a disaster, and this assistance helps CUC respond to urgent needs while supporting the Commonwealth’s recovery.
