Meeting with Senior White House Official on CNMI Funding Requests

Over the past several weeks, I have been actively engaging with federal agencies and departments to request updates and advocate for federal grant programs experiencing delays in drawdowns and disbursements in the CNMI. Beyond phone calls and emails, I also wrote to President Trump to emphasize the critical role federal programs play in supporting the people of the CNMI and the essential services we rely on. I am tremendously grateful that the White House responded, and this week, I had the opportunity to meet with Christopher Escobedo, Western Regional Political Director & Special Assistant to the President. We discussed ongoing funding for CNMI’s federal programs, including critical funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Securing timely and reliable access to federal resources will remain on our radar, and the advocacy for federally funded programs and services in the CNMI continues.
