Meeting our Pacific Partners

On Wednesday the Congressional Pacific Islands Caucus, of which I am a member, along with the Embassies of Australia and New Zealand, hosted Ambassadors representing Pacific Island Countries to the United States and Permanent Representatives to the United Nations at a roundtable on Capitol Hill.  The discussion provided an opportunity for Ambassadors and Members of Congress to share views on issues in the Pacific Islands and build on recent diplomatic and strategic engagements, including the successful passage of funding for the Compacts of Free Association by Congress.  The Northern Marianas is a key member of the Pacific family, and I will ensure our shared issues and concerns continue to be heard on the national level.
