Meeting of the Mayors
On Tuesday, I had the great fortune to sit down with Mayor of Saipan RB Camacho, Mayor of Tinian Edwin Aldan, and Mayor of Rota Aubrey Hocog to touch base on the issues affecting our islands. Mayors are on the front lines of public service - out in the field, organizing events, clearing roadways, visiting homes, and staying present among the people they serve. Because they’re in the villages day in and day out, they understand the real challenges our communities face, and how government at every level can step up to help. We discussed pending FEMA projects, infrastructure funding opportunities, and the hurdles they’re navigating to move their communities forward. I walked away with a long list of action items and a deep appreciation for the leadership and dedication of this group.
