Meeting with Congressman Tom Tiffany
On Wednesday, I met with Wisconsin Congressman Tom Tiffany who has been vocal about Chinese birth tourism in the CNMI. Many of you have seen Congressman Tiffany’s statement on the CNMI. These are not issues we should shy away from. In my first few days back in the office, I sat down with him to discuss tackling the issue with him and on ways we can provide him and his office with updated statistics and information on Chinese birth tourism in the CNMI. It is important to me that I make the effort to speak with anyone in Washington who is interested in the issues of our islands. There is no doubt that our issues are challenging, but addressing them head on is what we are here to do. As two Members who represent isolated communities, I believe we can accomplish great things this Congress.
