Marianas Projects Included in CR
The full-year spending bill for the U.S. Department of Agriculture includes funding for three projects I requested to address key needs across the Marianas. These investments through the USDA Office of Rural Development include $1.5 million for the Office of the Mayor of Saipan to acquire heavy equipment for community projects and maintenance, $1 million for the Tinian Mayor’s Office to support water infrastructure for homestead expansion in Marpo Heights, and $1 million to help the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation build a new medical supplies warehouse. I thank the mayors and CHCC for the strong justifications they provided in support of these projects. Their collaboration helps make sure federal resources reach where they’re most needed to strengthen our infrastructure and better serve our communities.
