Learning More About USDA’s Community Programs

You can tell when someone is truly passionate about their work. They care about the people they serve and go above and beyond to make things better for their communities. That energy was clear in my meeting with Lennie Okano-Kendric, Community Programs Director with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Lennie visited the office while on Saipan to talk about the work she and USDA are doing in the Marianas and across the region, the process USDA follows when administering Congress’s Community Project Funds, and how we can expand the reach and impact of USDA programs in the CNMI.
