Kim Meets Kim

Congresswoman Young Kim (R-CA) has been an advocate and friend of the Pacific islands. I had the pleasure of sitting down with her to discuss the work she is doing on assisting communities like ours. I reiterated something I’ve been saying in many of my meetings with colleagues: There is a giant foreclosure sign on the CNMI, as businesses are leaving and our tourism industry is floundering, which is a national security threat. We are the most western part of America and it exposes us to vulnerabilities when we do not have economic stability. The Congresswoman responded very assuredly, “You are preaching to the choir”. These were warm words. Thank you, Congresswoman, for understanding the CNMI’s value to American national security.
