International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists

I was proud to cosponsor a House Resolution recognizing 2026 as the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists. The Year celebrates rangelands and pastoralists like our Tinian cattle ranchers that use our natural grasslands to produce food and other animal products. A recent study found that Tinian’s cattle industry creates $4.8 million for the local economy annually. This was the result of years of work by Tinian’s cattle ranchers and partners to rebuild the local ranching industry, and I look forward to helping it continue to grow in the years ahead.
