Interagency Group on Insular Areas Convenes
(L-R) Director of White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs Alex Meyer, Governor Arnold Palacios, Rep. Radewagen, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, Secretary of Interior Doug Burgum, Rep. James Moylan, me, U.S. Virgin Islands Governor Albert Bryan Jr., and Senior Advisor to the Secretary Scott Cameron.

This week, I joined Governor Arnold Palacios, governors of the insular areas, Congressman Jim Moylan and Congresswoman Amata Radewagen for the 2025 Senior Plenary Session of the Interagency Group on Insular Areas (IGIA). The IGIA was established to gather input from elected leaders of Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the CNMI and to provide recommendations to the President on the implementation of federal programs impacting the territories. These discussions are vital to ensuring that our unique needs and challenges are heard at the highest levels of government. I look forward to working alongside our territorial leaders to ensure federal resources and programs work for our communities.
