Information for Students Seeking Service Academy Nominations
I wanted to jump back on social media this week to share information about the Service Academy Nomination process and to encourage students who are interested in serving our country to explore this path. Attending a U.S. service academy is an incredible honor and comes with a commitment to serve in the military for at least five years after graduation. Members of Congress can nominate candidates to four of the nation’s service academies, including West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, and the Merchant Marine Academy. Each year, I may nominate up to ten applicants for every vacant academy slot assigned to the Northern Mariana Islands. If you are a student, a parent, or someone who works with youth who may be interested in this opportunity, now is the time to learn more.
