House Small Business Committee Holds Hearing on Domestic Manufacturing
On Thursday I participated in the House Small Business Committee’s hearing entitled, “Made in USA: How Main Street is Revitalizing Domestic Manufacturing”. The committee questioned the witnesses, who included representatives from a major manufacturing trade association, a nonprofit, and leaders of small business manufacturers, on how Congress might better encourage the growth of domestic manufacturing by small businesses. Our discussion spanned a broad range of issues including workforce training for the modern manufacturing economy and issues related to the adoption of advanced technology like AI. I, along with the other members of the Committee, will take what we learned to enact policy to strengthen America’s small business manufacturing base, including in the CNMI.
