House Committee on Small Business Approves Seven Bills
This week, the House Committee on Small Business (HSBC) held a full Committee markup where seven bills considered were passed by the Committee. As a member of HSBC, I was proud to join my Republican colleagues as we voted in favor of these bills that aim to restore accountability and trust in the SBA, ensuring the agency works for small businesses and returns to its core mission of serving the values, culture, and lifestyle of everyday Americans who live in smaller communities, away from the hustle and bustle of large cities. One example is H.R. 2965 - Small Business Regulatory Reduction Act of 2025. I’m a proud original cosponsor of H.R. 2965 and fully support its mandate for SBA to minimize regulatory costs on small businesses and requiring the SBA Office of Advocacy to report annually on the regulatory costs on small businesses, aiming to expose and limit the burden of excessive red tape and compliance obstacles. All seven bills were approved by a vote of 15-11, with all Republicans voting in favor of supporting small businesses.
