Ensuring that the work in Washington stays connected to the people of the CNMI is very important to me. This week, I was glad to bring one of my key Washington staffers to the islands to build relationships, see firsthand the impact of her work, and bring that perspective back to Congress. Sami Ewing, my Veterans Affairs Committee staffer, dove right in. Among her meetings was the opportunity to host the dedicated veterans advocates from Project Buddy Check 670 to discuss the work of the committee, share ideas on expanding services in the Marianas, and put faces to names. My thanks to everyone for staying engaged and working together to ensure more resources reach the veterans who need them here in the Marianas.
