Honoring the Service of †Melvin Sakisat

It was a privilege and an honor to meet with the family of the late Melvin Sakisat to present a flag flown above the U.S. Capitol in recognition of his service. Mr. Sakisat was a veteran and a valued member of our community, and it was important to make sure his service to our country was properly honored. I want to thank his wife, Ruth Ann, and the entire Sakisat and Palacios family for joining us for the presentation and for their strength during such a difficult time. Our community remembers and appreciates his service.
